Abstract

In many laboratories, computer equipment is monitored because constant use causes malfunctions and wear and tear that ultimately affect daily work. The increase in students and the extended periods when equipment remains powered on highlighted the need for a tool to better organize the inventory and understand the actual condition of each machine. This prompted the development of a computer system that records equipment information and uses a linear regression model to estimate remaining useful life, in order to anticipate problems and improve maintenance planning. The research focused on a population comprised of faculty, students, and the coordinator of a technology program, who shared their experiences through surveys and an interview. Their responses revealed difficulties in inventory control, a lack of organization in failure reports, and a lack of data to track the progressive deterioration of equipment. The system was developed using the Scrum agile methodology, organizing tasks into sprints that facilitated incremental progress and verification of each module's functionality. The results showed that the system allows for the registration of users, equipment, and laboratories, as well as the generation of reports and the presentation of indicators through a dashboard. The predictive model successfully estimated the remaining useful life of the equipment. A clear improvement in the organization and inventory management of the laboratories was observed
