Abstract

This document presents an integrative project aimed at developing a Document Information System (DIS) for academic management at the Laica “Eloy Alfaro” University of Manabí (ULEAM), El Carmen Extension, which arises after identifying critical deficiencies in the administration of archives, such as the dispersion of information on multiple platforms, delays in essential processes due to the absence of a centralized system and security risks that endangered the documents by exposing them to accidental losses or unauthorized access; To support the proposal, an investigative framework was applied that combined a literature review with a field study, using analytical and inductive-deductive methods. This prompted the creation of the SIDULEAM web platform, a tool that automates the generation of folders by committees, the tracking of document status (pending, under review, approved), and the management of academic periods. This consolidates an administrative model that not only centralizes and digitizes information to facilitate decision-making but also strengthens security and transparency, aligning with the current technological demands of higher education
